Summer. And this year it’s a good hot summer in the UK. For us it’s a time to think about our next destination and do some planning and research. We don’t have to worry about school holidays, but we absolutely have no wish to join the summer holiday migration. Visit Europe to go to crowded beaches with thousands of other Brits? No thanks. If we go away in summer it will be a last minute plan, and a short(ish) road trip. In fact, I carefully mark my diary (Google calendar of course) with the UK school holidays, so we know when to avoid traveling.
Destination: Anywhere in the UK by Road
So this first post was an interesting. We have done many road trips in the UK, normally to one or two places and back, but never a full “tour”.

Destination: Croatia
Looking ahead now (the 2018 travel calendar is full), Croatia is a destination which has been recommended to us a number of time by a number of people. It is clearly a popular destination and one which is on or list. Maybe next year?
Destination: Australia. By Train
Now this one has been on my bucket list for a while. In fact I have an aim to do more train travel. Doing the south to north trip on the Ghan in Australia!
