Brackley Poppies

Brackley Town Hall Adorned with Poppies

What a fantastic effort by the residents of Brackley, in preparation for this Sunday’s Remembrance celebration in the town.

After a busy week I had not been in town until this morning, when I had a chance to see the recently refurbished town hall.

It is, of course, 100 years since the signing of the armistice which ended World War 1. This year Armistice Day, 11 November, falls on a Sunday. There will be various ceremonies and services in the town throughout the day.

10,425 poppies were crocheted by the people of the town to create the adornment of the town hall and other places. An incredible effort.
