First Flower – A Red Rose

First flower of the spring - a fresh Red Rosebud in the green leaves

First flower of the spring! It’s a red rose, nestling in a bunch of green leaves.

Maybe it seems odd thinking of spring, as we go into summer. Especially as the world endures the coronavirus lockdown.

This is the first flower I saw in spring a couple of years ago. It is one rose, but promise of more to come looking at the buds around it.

  1. Here, the succession of flowering spring bulbs is underway in our yard. Daffodils are at peak. Hyacinths have started. The tulips have growing buds. There wil likely be enough this year to keep the vase full.
