The Swans

Catching up on my portfolio, this time with a selection of swan photos.

My 2021 is turning into a year even more forgettable that 2020. With a whole lot of free time and some sunny weather, it should be a good time to be getting out and about. A small foot injury has put me out of action. A good time to dig in and root out some of the older photos in my portfolio.

I have posted swan photos before, like my favourite Swan Takeoff. In fact the featured photo for this page was published before as “Swan on the Lake” with a photo tip.

In spring and early summer one or two swans can be seen on the local lake. They make a great photo subject, with their long necks an often interesting “poses”.

The shape of the swan and the texture and colours of the feathers lend themselves to black and white photos.
