Back to school, back to work, end of the summer holidays. Although the British weather seems to be extending into September, last weekend marked the end of summer for most of us.
We ended the summer at a celebratory Hog Roast, also a fundraiser for the Vimba charity, which supports children in Zimbabwe. Held at GJ’s in Wandsworth it was certainly a party of note, a great way to end the summer. Starting with the usual Zimbabwean culprits and friends, the public area was soon filled with players and friends from a local social touch rugby festival. Some of us had to leave early, with a long trip home, but I’m told that the party went on to the early hours with some just about recovered a week later.

Apparently the fund raising also went very well.

Here’s to next summer. But don’t forget Braai Day on 24 September, or thereabouts (many are braaiing on the weekend before, and I believe there is a Potjiekos vs Hangi party or two after the South Africa vs New Zealand rugby match on 5 October.
