Old buildings feature in many parts of the London cityscape. Despite the ravages of the blitz many have survived and have been well maintained.

Sometimes you need to look at the side streets, like this one.

We had just left Waterloo station when I saw this layering of old buildings and much newer ones, and grabbed the shot.

It’s also what I call a "wait for me" shot. The challenge of travelling with a partner or group who are not photographers. If you stop to grab a great shot, they don’t wait! Suddenly you are all on your own and wondering where they went!

Taking a bit of time, you can find many interesting "old and new" building shots in London. Like the modern glass and old dome in this one,
