Saturday at the Lake

[two_third]
It has been a hectic few weeks with the usual seasonal work rush, alongside projects coming to completion, leaving little time for photography, blogging, and the like. So it was great to have a sunny, though cold, Saturday morning to take a walk to the local lake.

Having a small lake, with a bit of wildlife in the form of ducks, geese, herons, occasional swans and others, is always great as a spot to go for a walk, chill out and enjoy the scenery. Over time you see the natural environment change with the seasons. Although the lake becomes a well known “been there, done that” spot, there is always something to photograph, at any time of day. It has frequently been the site of a camera equipment testing exercise, or a skills building exercise (such as The Lens Exercise which featured in a previous posting.

This Saturday, with clear blue skies and still lake waters, was no exception. A standard zoom gave a great view of the lake with bare trees and blue sky reflected in the water. The gulls, settling in now for the winter, gave the opportunity for a bit of bird photography, with a nice capture of a gull landing.

An excellent break from work – enjoy the show, below.
